A key principle underpinning GDPR is that you should only collect personal data for a purpose, and that you should state that purpose at the time the data is collected.
In LeadLabs, each "purpose" is associated with a Buyer Campaign.
Buyer are the people, team or company who use the collected data to achieve the "purpose".
Buyers can be internal teams or 3rd party companies. You can be as granular or as general as you want.
Buyer are used in reports so that you can compare the profitability of different business unites. Buyer are required in order to extract data.
Everyone starts with a default buyer, "[Your Company Name]".
If you are not sure yet how to use Buyers, feel free to use this default.
Note: Obviously a given website can collect data to achieve a number of purposes (and thus might be associated with multiple Buyer Campaigns), and multiple teams might be assigned to achieving that purpose (and thus multiple Buyers might be associated with each Buyer Campaign.)
